Berlin becomes the meeting place for international youth boxing

120 entries, five guest nations and four days of competition at the Berlin Cup International from 21 to 25 October 2026 in Schöneberg

Berlin, 16 October 2026. Next week the Sporthalle Schöneberg becomes the venue for international youth boxing competition. From 21 to 25 October 2026, Isigym Boxsport Berlin e.V. hosts the Berlin Cup International for boxers in the U17 and U19 age groups.

The organiser has received 120 entries. Alongside German clubs, participants from Poland, Mongolia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Ukraine are expected.

Top European youth talent in the ring

Among the entries is a successful young boxer: Alyah Ibrahim of Schwarz-Weiß Westende Hamborn, who won the silver medal at the recent U17 European Championships.

Spectators can experience international amateur boxing on four days of competition. The preliminary rounds begin on Thursday, 22 October, the semi-finals take place on Saturday, 24 October. The highlight is the finals on Sunday, 25 October, from 2 pm.

A club that combines sporting and social responsibility

The tournament is hosted by Isigym Boxsport Berlin e.V. The club was founded in 2007 together with the housing company Gewobag as a neighbourhood project in Schöneberg-Nord and has been Berlin's only Olympic youth training centre for boxing since 2013.

Under the leadership of its chairman and head coach Izzet Mafratoglu, a two-time German champion, the club combines performance-oriented boxing training with social youth work. This includes supporting young people with schoolwork and questions of career orientation.

The Berlin Cup gives young talents the opportunity to gain international competition experience and to develop as athletes. At the same time, the tournament encourages encounters between young people of different backgrounds.

The Governing Mayor of Berlin, Kai Wegner, also acknowledges the club's commitment in his greeting for this year's tournament.

Spectators welcome – free tickets for Berlin schools and clubs

The bouts take place at the Sporthalle Schöneberg, Sachsendamm 12. Around 1,400 seats are available.

Day tickets cost 10 euros, children up to and including 14 years pay 5 euros. Tickets are sold exclusively at the box office on the day. Berlin schools and sports clubs can This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. from the organiser.
