Competition format

A maximum of 16 boxers per weight category may be admitted; the number of participants is limited by the number of competition days. Depending on the actual number of participants, a different competition format may be applied in individual weight categories.

Bouts take place in one or two rings. Draw and scoring use the Swiss Timing Scoring System.

Equipment

Competition gloves and headguards in red and blue with valid certification are provided by the organiser. This equipment must be used for all bouts.

  • Competition clothing: each team brings red and blue clothing for its boxers in accordance with the World Boxing Competition Rules.
  • Bandages: Velcro bandages are mandatory. Boxers bring their own, and they must comply with the World Boxing Competition Rules.

Delegation and Referees & Judges

The permitted size of the official delegation depends on the number of registered boxers. Federations and clubs entering three or more boxers must send an internationally certified Referee & Judge (R&J).

Registered boxersAccompanying team members
1–22
3–73 + R&J
8–154 + R&J

All delegation members must be qualified for their assigned duties. Referees & Judges are accommodated separately from their teams; their accommodation is organised by the Local Organising Committee after successful registration, so they do not book it themselves.

Boxing Entries Check

The Boxing Entries Check is mandatory and completes the entry procedure. Only boxers who have been checked and approved are included in the draw. The Local Organising Committee informs each team of its appointment before the event; teams must make all necessary arrangements to arrive on time for their assigned appointment. Each team may send at most two persons, for example the team leader and the team doctor. Required for each boxer, complete and signed where necessary:

  • copy of passport
  • competition record book or licence book
  • valid annual medical examination, not older than 12 months
  • for female boxers, the declaration of non-pregnancy; for minors, signed by the legal representative
  • competition clothing in red and blue in accordance with the World Boxing Competition Rules
  • certified headguards in red and blue in accordance with the World Boxing Competition Rules

Accreditation is issued only once all accommodation costs have been paid in full to the hotel.

Accreditation and wristbands

At accreditation every member of a delegation receives an accreditation card and a wristband valid on all tournament days. The wristband is the pass for entering the hall and is worn on the wrist. It is issued according to each person's role in the delegation.

Airport and transfers

The designated airport for arrival and departure is Berlin Brandenburg (BER). The Local Organising Committee picks teams up there, generally as a whole delegation: team members arriving on an earlier flight may have to wait for the rest of their delegation. Local transport during the event is also organised by the committee. Transfers outside the scheduled event days may incur additional costs, which are provided on request.

Accommodation

Teams stay at Hotel Berlin, Berlin, Lützowplatz 17, 10785 Berlin. A room allotment for the delegations is available there from 19 to 28 October 2026.

  • Single room: 97 euros per room and night, including breakfast
  • Double room: 120 euros per room and night for two persons, including breakfast

Rooms are booked directly with the hotel using a booking code that teams receive from the Local Organising Committee after successful registration; costs are settled directly with the hotel. In double rooms it cannot be guaranteed that the beds can be separated. Please take this into account when planning room occupancy.

Medical care and insurance

The organiser provides first-aid medical care for sports injuries throughout the event. The sports-medical requirements for competing remain the responsibility of each delegation; final medical clearance is granted by the ringside doctors.

All accredited participants must have adequate personal insurance for the entire travel and event period, in particular travel health insurance and liability insurance. Taking out valid cover is the responsibility of the participants or of the sending federations and clubs.

Photography and video

The organiser films the tournament for reporting, broadcasts and its own information and promotional purposes; official photographers take pictures of boxers and other participants before and during the event. Accredited media have access. Private video recordings of bouts for broadcasting or publication of any kind, including on social media, are not permitted.
